Frisco ISD Helps Make Football Game Possible for Plano, El Paso Eastwood
We're now only a week from the start of the high school football season, so here's the updated cumulative varsity high school football football schedule for the 2019 season.
The schedule is now updated with Lebanon Trail's Sept. 5 game against Fort Worth Arlington Heights, which was moved to Toyota Stadium. Lebanon Trail Football Coach Sadd Jackson agreed to move the game so that Plano and El Paso Eastwood could play at Ford Center.
Without Coach Jackson, along with the help of Frisco ISD Superintendent Dr. Mike Waldrip and Lebanon Trail Principal Jacob Duce, the Plano vs. Eastwood game would've been canceled. Here's why.
“It’s all about the kids," Jackson said. "These kids have looked forward to playing like everyone else. You would hate to see them miss a game because of a technicality that had nothing to do with them. If we could help them, we were going to do it.”
"This was such an easy decision for us to be able to support these schools and their kids," Duce said. "Whatever inconvenience this may cause us, it's much better than students from two high schools, including football players and all the students in band, dance and color guard, missing out on that week's opportunity to play and perform."
All games are at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
