Three Frisco ISD wrestlers took home championships over the weekend at the Wolverine Invitational at Wakeland High School.
Centennial’s Tyler Volk won the 106-pound class, going through the bracket with one victory by pin and two by technical fall. Volk helped Centennial finish second in the team standings.
Lone Star, which finished fourth in the team standings, was led by Michael Gaisoa’s dominant performance in the 220-pound bracket. Gaisoa (pictured) was named the meet’s Outstanding Wrestler after pinning all four of his opponents.
Lebanon Trail’s Max Hampton was the champion at 160 pounds. After a bye in the first round, Hampton pinned his first opponent and then won 7-0 in the championship bout.
