The Frisco Cup golf tournament, featuring boys and girls players from Frisco ISD’s high schools, is back again. The sixth annual event will be at Frisco Lakes Golf Club on Friday and Saturday, with competition starting at 8 a.m. each day.
When the tournament started, FISD had just opened its seventh high school. The District now has 10, and all will participate in the Frisco Cup, an event that is unlike most other golf tournaments because it combines the boys and girls scores to crown an overall team champion. Boys and girls golfers will play 18 holes each day and will compete for individual titles.
Liberty was the team champion from 2014 to 2016 and Centennial took the title in 2017. Liberty took the title back last year, followed by Centennial and Wakeland, which has finished second three times in the event’s history.
